Intended for all pastors, leaders and diaconal and missionary workers of churches and Christian organizations in Amsterdam and other cities, and their leadership teams .

This Amsterdam Summit is a continuation of previous summits and builds on the results and research of the ACCL consultation in Amsterdam in 2017. It serves the vision that the gospel of the Kingdom of God is salt and light for cities like Amsterdam. The goal is to bring together leaders of churches, ministries, and organizations that have a heart for the city, for inspiration, vision development, celebrating God’s work, learning from each other, and conversation about cooperation.

Theme: (How) can the city be touched by God’s Kingdom?

Sources of renewal that go beyond the Church itself, but are a tangible blessing to society in the city. There have been many conferences on revival and renewal of the church. This is very precious and important, but at this summit, we want to ask the question of what renewal is needed for God’s Kingdom to bless and impact the city? Vivi Grigg has researched this and will provide us with a framework for this. We will discuss this together.

Searching for ways to enter into conversation and action with relevant areas/themes of society based on the values, reconciliation, and justice of the gospel of God’s Kingdom. In the second part, we look at connecting the good news with the themes that play a role in the city. If we are salt and light, this can only be done by being involved in important areas of the city in word and deed. Vivi Grigg will share his experiences with this and lead our conversation.

Vivi Grigg has a rich hands-on experience in pioneering movement, research, and training of leaders in various cities around the world.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Vivi Grigg

The keynote speaker of the summit is Dr. Viv Grigg, author of “The Spirit of Christ and the transformation of the postmodern city”, among other books.

Vivi Grigg is a New Zealander and a prophetic voice among the poor of the slums, focused on multiplying churches and organizations in the poor neighborhoods of Manila, Kolkata, So Paulo, and Los Angeles. He has been the catalyst of communities (apostolic orders) in the slums of more than forty emerging megacities and started numerous organizations that transform poverty. Viv Grigg is also the author of Companion to the Poor, Spirit of Christ and the Postmodern City, and Slumdwellers’ Pedagogy. These have been crucial to providing new paradigms of mission to the urban poor, the new Western apostolic networks, transformative citywide revival, and economic discipleship. Vivi Grigg is a Professor of URBAN Leadership at William Carey International University and initiates the MA in Transformational Urban Leadership at Universities worldwide ( www.matul.org ).
